Headstone Hunter. Finding foxes in Bath isn’t hard. Just like any city, you merely must know where to look. Graveyards were first on my list of places to search, and after visiting a few, I decided to head to St James’ Cemetery. Low and behold, a man called Bob turned up and fed a skulk of foxes. Bob goes down every day but is very protective of the foxes, so I have been limited in my visits to be sure not to annoy Bob.
Arc de Triumf, Barcelona. I took a short trip to Barcelona in late January as I had never been to Spain, and Barcelona was a great introduction to the country. I shot a variation of this image on my first morning of exploring the city. There was a lot of traffic and people in the foreground, so I went back on my final morning to capture it without the busyness and with the sun catching the wintery air through the archway.
Under the Helvellyn Sun. Celyn, Jay, Jacob, and I took a short trip to the Lake District in March. We weren't looking to get any specific shots out of the journey as we were more catching up and exploring the Lakes, somewhere none of us knew. I shot this looking up at the others, using the sun to backlight them, creating a beautiful silhouette as we climbed up Helvellyn.
The Woods. I shot this image on New Year’s Eve at St Alfred’s Tower. We went on a wander through the woods with my younger cousins. It was an atmospheric morning with mist amongst the trees. We saw buzzards swooping over the damp grassland whilst we shared our leftover Christmas chocolates and cake, washed down by steaming coffee.
The Sligachan Braids I had pre-planned this image after searching for braided channels on google maps. We had stopped at the Sligachan Hotel after a long day exploring northern Skye to have a whiskey when the sky started to go golden. Just as the sun dipped towards the horizon, I sent the drone up and got this beautiful view of the River Sligachan winding up towards the mountains. I was certainly 'channelling' (pun intended) my inner Chris Burkard whilst shooting this image!
Shooting a Star. The buzz and excitement in Bath during a film or TV shoot is always impressive, but when Timothee Chalamet, the new darling of Hollywood came to film Wonka the excitement was something else. The streets lined with screaming teenage girls alongside bullish paparazzi from the national papers. Everyone was jostling for a good view of Chalamet as he walked down the steps in Parade Gardens dressed in Wonka’s famed eccentric fashion.
